American Jewish Historical Society
In 1999, the American Jewish Historical Society returned to New York
City, its original home, where it joined the American Sephardi Federation,
the Leo Baeck Institute, the Yeshiva University Museum, and YIVO, to form
the new Center for Jewish History. The Society’s New England headquarters
continues to operate in Waltham, Massachusetts, adjacent to the campus
of Brandeis University. It also manages Gomez House, the oldest Jewish
homestead still extant in North America.
